I am Shawn Smith, a student at the Pima Community College. I am a 3rd years student and will graduate in May of 2011. In the future, I hope to obtain a job working in the Web Design and Graphic Designer fields. After my college graduation, I plan to work as a Web Designer and getting more experience in my interests and my field.

I am interested in this field because I enjoy working on any web designs, especially using my skills with web logic, graphics, and HTML. I have a lot of experience with web design. I have gained this experience from internships, web team, and employment.

I have many personal strengths, positive qualities, and job skills that assist me in reaching my career goal. I am hard working, independent, and able to manage my time effectively to get my tasks done in a timely manner. The skills I have learned how to do well are, being polite, business minded, and aware of the importance of using my high quality skills.

I have gained work experience in the area of web design, followed the webmaster’s plans and orders, developed and designed pages for different departments, and finished pages in a timely manner with good quality and attention to detail. My work experience has taught me how to be responsible in all my assignments.

This is my portfolio. It includes my resume, letters of recommendation, personal references, high school transcripts, work samples, and letters of learned skills. An interpreter has translated this letter of introduction and portfolio into written English because America Sign Language is my first language.

For initial job training, orientation, and future staff meetings, and interpreter would help to provide access to communication. I am able to learn on the job through demonstration, gestures, and writing. I am also able to teach my co-workers some job-related signs.
